Dirty Little Secret
Champagne Bubble and Lipstick Stains (Book 2)
by Janae Keyes
What Others Are Saying!
Like always her stories grip you from the start and this is what happened here to me. I love the characters , Taylor and Nate. They both come to life for me and I was immediately taken in the swirl of emotion that the story began with. I read this book in one sitting because I couldn’t bring myself to put it down , it just kept me wanting to know more and more until I got to the end and still wanted more.
The story is fantastic, spicy hot and sophisticated. I can see this becoming a movie. I can’t wait for her next book.
I can’t wait to read more of Janae’s work. She seriously is a Queen of the Written Word! Can’t wait to see where her writing career takes her. Hopefully someday we will see her characters on The Big Screen!

He closed the door behind him and headed for the staircase. As he came back into the lobby, he could see that the office door was open. He made eye contact with Silvia. “Shit,” he whispered. She looked pissed. Of course, the fact that he was shirtless wasn’t going to help the situation. He hoped she’d stay in the office and fester about it rather than come out and make a scene in front of the entire hotel. But she stood up, so he cracked his neck and braced for the latter.
Silvia was small but she was tough. He had seen her temper on occasion. She stormed over to him and hit his arm. “What do you think you’re doing?”
“Silvia, this isn’t the place.”
“I don’t care, pendejo!” He lifted an eyebrow at her, knowing she had just called him an asshole. “It was that blond bitch, wasn’t it? I heard you two hung out for hours the other day, even after I left. Didn’t waste any time, did you?”
He realized this was going to be a mess. He couldn’t care less what she said to him. Was she stupid enough to say something to Nicole? She was still a paying customer. He hadn’t thought to tell Nicole about Silvia and now he wished he had. What would Nicole think if Silvia found her before he had a chance to explain? He contemplated going back up to the room immediately, then figured he’d try to talk to Silvia first.
“We aren’t together anymore,” he told her, “I’m not doing anything wrong.”
“I know about your little rule, you idiota,” she yelled.
“Well, I broke it,” was all he could think to say. He didn’t have time for this shit. He needed to get changed to meet Gael, so he took his phone out of his pocket and called the general manager. He could hear Silvia going on in a mixture of English and Spanish, but did his best to tune her out.
“Hi, Victor, it’s Derek…There is a guest here. I want to make sure that Silvia has absolutely no contact with her. Her job depends on it. Yes, she’s the one…yes, I know you told me this would happen…gracias.”
He shoved the phone back in his pocket. He looked down at Silvia, trying to show her that he was not kidding. “You leave her alone. You do not speak to her. Your job depends on it,” he repeated. He waited for a response, but she just turned around, stomped back into the office, and slammed the door like a child throwing a fit.
Aubrey Parr waited until her she was forty to publish her first novel. Although she received her Master’s in Accounting, Aubrey always knew that she wanted to write. She was inspired by her great-uncle, author Evan S. Connell. She lives with her husband and daughter outside of Chicago, Illinois and is currently writing book 3 of her Love on… series. When Aubrey isn’t writing, she can be found with a book in her hand.
Cowboy Games is a STANDALONE HEA! Will Lana save a joystick and ride a cowboy? Let the first chapter lasso you in!
“Frack! This can’t be right!” Lana tapped on the GPS screen on her fun little rental car. Pulling to the side of the deserted Montana road, Lana couldn’t help but take a look at the natural beauty outside. It would have seemed more awe-inspiring if she hadn’t felt so lost. A hundred miles from the nearest hint of civilization recognized by Google Maps was not the place to be lost. Lana’s over active mind began to imagine the animals waiting to eat her, out in the forest or other worse fates that she had seen on the news back home in Berkeley. Pulling out her phone, she noticed that she had no bars.
“Frackity frack frack frack! For the love of Zelda!” Opening the car door, she stepped out to see whether she could get any bars at all. A part of her knew that it wouldn’t make any difference, but it didn’t stop her from trying. No more bars appeared, which led Lana to make the conclusion that she would have to trust the GPS. It was that or turn back. And since she knew there was nothing but a run-down gas station fifty miles behind her, she figured that her bladder would rather she try to move forward.
She knew that she had been taking a risk traveling out here to meet her longtime online friend, Solar Cowboy. Even now, she couldn’t believe that she had trekked out to the middle of nowhere to meet this person. Who did that? She berated herself for the tenth time in the last hour.
Lana had met a lot of people through The Celestial Prophesy, but few she had connected with like Solar Cowboy. Not in the romantic sense, but as a kindred friend. She had never met him before, but, but it really didn’t matter. When she had told him of her and her best friend/ teammate, Steph’s plan to make a camp for underprivileged girls to learn coding and experience life, he had suggested that she consider his Montana ranch. He had played up how the girls could learn to ride horses, lasso, and code all in one week. When Lana had mentioned it to Steph, she had loved the idea. So, here she was in the middle of nowhere to scope out this ranch.
“Great idea, Lana. World-class idea to come out to the middle of nowhere to meet a guy you really don’t know. What if he’s an ax murderer?” Looking over her shoulder at the road traveled, her bladder insisted that she move forward toward hopefully, a bathroom. If she didn’t find civilization soon, she’d be squatting for sure.
Getting back in the car, she huffed as she resigned herself to trusting the car GPS that she hoped had been upgraded in the last year. “Should have downloaded the directions on your phone before you left, dummy!” She pounded the steering wheel with her palm before she pulled the mustang back onto the desolate highway.
“What the fuck are you doing, Cody?” Jesse couldn’t help but laugh as he watched his seventeen-year-old brother race around the house throwing things this way and that. “Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the cleaning, but why now? What’s your rush?”
“She’s coming!” Cody let out almost a boyish squeal as he loaded up his arms with clothes and other random junk that had been lying around.
Jesse followed his brother’s mad dash into their bachelor-pad like kitchen. Jesse rarely understood his younger brother. Cody had always been geeky. Preferring to spend time on his computer rather than riding the range with Jesse. Often Jesse felt bad for Cody. He had been born in the wrong place. He would have been much better suited in the Silicon Valley rather than Somewhere Valley, Montana. After the sudden death of their parents when Cody was fourteen, Jesse had hoped that he could find a way to bridge their gap of personalities, but no such luck.
“Fuck! She’s almost here and it looks like this?” Cody whined.
If you like smokin’ hot cowboys, then this one is for you! All the sexy cowboy without the cow smell! For 18+.

challenged me, I slipped back into my imaginary world and hid. This didn’t

What would you do if everyone thought you were dead, but you had a debt to collect?
That is the dilemma that faces our heroine in this series. So, the better question here is…. How do I review the series without giving to much away? Sometimes it sucks to be me when I just want to RAVE about a fucking book series. Each books starts one way and then twists another way as you read, so enthralled in the story that you don’t notice the twist til the last paragraph of the book. And then? you go… Oh shit! What the fuck did I just read?
That is what these books do to you. You have your love story, your horror story, your revenge story… And your wtf is going on here story, all at the same time. That is completely okay though, because you won’t want to stop once you start the first book. You’ll be invested. You have to keep reading. You can’t stop. Putting these books down will become a sin until you complete them. And the best part? They are all out now. All five books have been released.
So, that means that unlike the other poor fools who had to wait to finish the series, you won’t.
Now, let me tell you a little bit about the series. It’s dark and deep. It goes to a place that no one dares go, because it’s taboo. If blood, gore, violence, rape… If you are still reading this you’ll be good with this series. If those things offend you, why are you still reading this? Okay, okay, I admit… There is more everything else than the aforementioned things happening in the book, but if serial killers make your skin crawl… These books may not be for you. This series comes with a heavy trigger warning that should not be taken lightly.
However, that warning didn’t stop me from picking up the books to find out what Lana and Logan’s story was. I was fascinated by the blurbs. By what my friends were saying about these books. How they sounded right up my alley. And they were. They made me feel something I haven’t felt in a long time. Connected to a me I forgot existed. To a girl I forgot was ever alive. To someone I once knew. And I enjoyed it.
Yes, get these books. Read them, review them, love them. Gasp at them, and grasp something that only some people get. Even the bad guys can be good, and even the good guy can be bad.
Book 1: The Risk
They took too much.
Left too little.
I had nothing to lose…until him.
I didn’t expect him.
I didn’t want to fall in love.
But I can’t let him go.
Logan Bennett makes the world a safer place.
He’s a hero.
He locks away the sick and depraved.
But while he’s saving lives, I’m taking them. Collecting the debts that are owed to me.
Ten years ago, they took from me. They left me for dead.
They should have made sure I stayed dead.
Now I’m taking from them.
One name at a time.
I’ve trained for too long.
I’ve been patient.
I can’t stop now.
Revenge is best served cold…
They never see me coming, until I paint their walls red.
Logan doesn’t know how they hurt me. He doesn’t know about the screams they ignored. He doesn’t know how twisted that town really is.
He just knows people are dying.
He doesn’t know he’s in love with their killer.
No one suspects a dead girl.
And Logan doesn’t suspect the girl in his bed.
They’re looking for a monster.
Not a girl who loves red.
Not a girl in love.
I’m a faceless nightmare.
At least until I tell them the story they’ve pretended never happened.
But in the end, will Logan choose them? Or will we watch them burn together?
**Some triggers could be too much for the easily disturbed reader
**Fucked up moral compass; read at your own risk.
Book 2: Sidetracked
They always want to break me, but I’m too strong now. Untouchable.
Or at least I was…until her.
I’ve had tunnel vision for one main goal for so long, that I forgot there was a whole other world just outside. Until Lana.
She’s everything I never expected, and I love the fact I can never guess her every move or reaction. It’s part of the reason I keep falling. But I also know she shuts me out, hides things from me she feels she can’t share.
One day, I hope she trusts me enough to share.
It isn’t until my job puts her at risk that I realize just how fierce she is, but it doesn’t stop me from doing all I can to protect her. I should walk away to protect her better, but I can’t. Instead, I’m forced to find other ways to keep her safe.
I just hope it’s enough.
Though she is fierce, she’s still fragile…
**Very small moral compass
**Read at your own risk, because I’m not forcing you to warp your mind. ;)
Book 3: Scarlet Angel
To kill a monster, you have to be twice as monstrous. To love a monster, you have to share your soul…
Logan Bennett makes me want to have a future not tainted by the constant hunger for revenge. Doesn’t mean I can stop. Doesn’t mean I want to stop. It just means I want more…one day.
But how do you make a good man love the monster inside you without stripping his soul away as well? He is all the best parts of me right now, resurrecting bits of my heart I forgot could even exist.
He makes me feel something other than cold.
He also thinks I’m weak and fragile. Something I laugh about to myself, while secretly soaking in all his protectiveness and concern.
If anyone touches him, harms him, or even threatens him, then they should probably run. Because his girlfriend is a little bit crazy. They just don’t know it yet.
**BE WARNED: Some of the flashbacks in this one do get a lot more intense and detailed than the ones prior to this book. Anyone with sensitive triggers should skip the flashbacks.
Book 4: All The Lies
To understand the monsters in the world, you have to get inside their heads. It’s a dangerous place to be, especially when you start to empathize and lose your own sense of morality.
But that’s never happened to me…
I’ve never felt conflicted on any case. Right is right and wrong is wrong. It’s simple. Black and white. There’s no such thing as a gray area.
But fuck this case. I don’t even know what side I’m on anymore. I don’t understand how this town can continue to function without breaking under the weight of all the lies they’ve spun and lived.
Every time I find a shard of truth, my gut twists, my heart beats faster, and I hate this place a little more. Every time I think I’ve heard the worst, another truth is dug up from the ashes of more burning lies.
Worst of all, I don’t even know who to trust anymore. My head is all messed up.
I pride myself on being impossible to fool.
I’m an expert at knowing when someone is lying to me.
I never believed in being blinded by love…until Lana.
**BE WARNED: Some flashbacks can get intense to readers with a sensitive trigger. Skip the blocks in italics if that’s the case.
Book 5: Paint It All Red
Hush, little baby, don’t say a word…
Will Logan choose them? Or will we watch them burn together?
It’s time to fuck with their minds.
It’s time to finish it all.
It’s time to paint it all red…
Monsters don’t usually wish for happily-ever-afters.
**BE WARNED: Some descriptions are vivid and can be a trigger for sensitive readers.
Now, that you have had a chance to learn a little about each book, why not give them a chance? Let yourself be Mindfucked by the series and the author. You’ll have a good time. I know I did.
